Globespan, a major supplier of chipsets for ADSL, SDSL, and related DSL markets, merged with Virata in 2001 to form Globespan Virata Corporation. In November 2003, this entity was merged into Conexant Systems, Inc. Conexant, a leader in semiconductor solutions for broadband communications. Conexant specializes in designing and developing semiconductor system solutions that connect devices like set-top boxes, residential gateways, PCs, and game consoles to voice, video, and data services over broadband and dial-up connections.
