Ramtron
Ramtron was founded in 1984 as a company that researches and develops ferroelectric technology for semiconductor memory applications. From 1984 to the end of 1992, the Ramtron team with talented designers researched and developed ferroelectric materials that fully comply with CMOS semiconductor manufacturing process standards. Between 1993 and 1997, Ramtron began operating a pilot production plant for F-RAM. After the plant was completed, Ramtron began selling ferroelectric memory products and licensing F-RAM technology to top semiconductor companies. On September 19, 2012, Ramtron was acquired by Cypress Semiconductor.
