What are SMD Resistors?

Three Digit Code
The format of the three-digit coded chip resistor is XYZ, where X and Y represent significant figures, and Z represents the order of magnitude. The effective figure refers to the first two digits of the resistance value, the order of magnitude refers to the magnitude of the resistance value, and its value is expressed as 10 to the Z power.
Here are some examples in three-digit codes:
101: Indicates 100 ohms (Ω), where X=1, Y=0, Z=1.
222: Indicates 2.2 kiloohms (kΩ), where X=2, Y=2, Z=2.
473: Indicates 47 kiloohms (kΩ), where X=4, Y=7, Z=3.
It should be noted that the three-digit code is usually only suitable for chip resistors with relatively small resistance values, such as resistors in the range of 100Ω to 1MΩ.
Four Digit Code
The format of the four-digit coded chip resistor is WXYZ, where W, X and Y represent significant figures, and Z represents the order of magnitude. EIA-96
EIA-96, a coding system proposed by the Electronics Industry Association (EIA), aims to provide a convenient and reliable marking method for surface mount components.The EIA-96 marking system is based on the E96 series and therefore for resistors with a 1% tolerance
The EIA-96 encoding system is characterized by the use of a 96-character identifier symbol table. Among them, A to Z represent 26 letters, and numbers 0 to 9 represent 10 numbers. Each character represents a different resistance range (see table below).

02A ⇒ Code 02 = 102 with Multiplier A = 1 ⇒ 102 x 1 = 102 Ω ±1%
50C ⇒ Code 324 = 324 with Multiplier C = 100 ⇒ 324 x 100 = 32,400 Ω ±1%
93Z ⇒ Code 93 = 909 with Multiplier Z = 0.001 ⇒ 909 x 0.001 = 0.909 Ω ±1%
